Product type – Adhesive tape

Principle function – Mefix® is composed of a non-woven polyester fabric coated with an acrylic adhesive. The tape is permeable to water vapour and unlikely to cause tissue maceration. Mefix does not need to be removed before x-ray as the fabric is radio-transparent.

Recommended use – Mefix® is the ideal for securing catheters, drain tubes, dressings. Mefix® can be left in place for 7-10, depending on clinical situation.

Precautions – Ensure that Mefix® is not applied under tension to the skin, to prevent potential shearing forces which can lead to skin damage.

Contraindications – Mefix® should not be applied to any person who is sensitive to acrylic adhesives
