Zorflex Wound Contact Layer

Principle Function

Zorflex Long Fibre Activated Carbon Cloth provides an excellent alternative to traditional antimicrobial dressings that may contain chemical agents such as silver, iodine or PHMB. Zorflex offers three actions that promote wound healing and patient well being.
1. Chemical free antimicrobial action
2. Electrical conduction for accelerated tissue formation
3. Reduction of MMPs, pain and odour.

Zorflex LA developed, combining the proven Zoflex-technology with a low adherent polyethylene layer on both sides of the dressing – for less adhesion.

Recommended Use

Zorflex is suitable for wounds with suspected or proven infection or biofilm presence, and wounds with unviable tissue.

Frequency of Change

If on removal of secondary dressing Zorflex surface looks very wet and shiny (any wear time up to 7 days) – Zorflex needs changing, remove and replace.

If on removal of the secondary dressing Zorflex surface looks neither dry nor very wet (wear time less than 7 days) – remove Zorflex that comes off easily, and replace. Leave any adhered product in-situ until 7 days has lapsed then change.

If on removal of secondary dressing Zorflex surface looks dry and dull (wear time less than 7 days) – leave Zorflex in-situ until 7 days has lapsed then change.

Contraindication

Zorflex Wound Contact Layer should not be used on dry wounds as this may cause the dressing to adhere to the wound. Precautions:  The use of oil based products or topical ointments may reduce the effectiveness of Zoflex.  If the dressing has adhered to the wound, soak initially and gently remove – consider using Zorflex LA if continuation of Zorflex therapy is desired.
